Kinds of Shows
Here are some kinds of llama classes you see at shows. Let's start off with obstacles. In obstacles you take your llama over obstacles, such as jumps and pools. And its not just that. You have to make sure when you are taking your animal over a jump they jump and their toenails don't hit the jump. Next, there is packing, in a packing class you take your llama over a series of obstacles but they are much different than the ones you would find in an obstacles class. First off your animal has to have a pack on and have items in the pack. And then the course is full of obstacles that you would find on a hike, such as a log when it comes to that you either STEP over it or if you have to cross it there might be a board in the course for you and your animal to walk over without stepping off. Then for the next kind of show we have P.R. That stands for Public Relations. In that course there is obstacles once again but think more if you were taking your llama in a parade, a stroll threw a town/city, or going somewhere such as the library. In that course you will probably find blow up animals and very likely someone sitting in a chair, and that person would ask to pet your llama. You respond as "Yes you pet him/her on the neck" and make you llama stand. And then for the next show, showmanship. In that show you stand always looking and facing the judge. (make sure you smile!) You also have to "Square" your animal. that means you make sure there feet are all lined up. Then finally the judge will call you up and ask you some questions. Then you may go back to the line. And then for the last show, halter. in a halter class its just like showmanship but you don't always have to turn and face the judge or do "Square" with your llama.
